Research suggests that there is a connection between family stress and conflict and teenagers’ wellbeing. One thing that can help teens deal with the stress of family, friends, and school is being attentive to the present moment, without judging or evaluating it. The purpose of this study is to better understand the impact of an 8-week mindfulness course (teaching teens how to pay attention, on purpose, in the present moment) on the stress of adolescents from families with some conflict or stress.
We are currently recruiting parents and their 12-17 year old teens to participate in this study. If you’re interested or want more information, please see our Volunteer for a Study page, email us at email@example.com, or call us at 970-491-5129.
We are also conducting a series of focus groups with local teens to support the development of interventions to reduce their stress. Boys and girls between the ages of 12-17 are invited to participate in the focus groups. For more information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 970-491-5129.
